VBF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose activities are supported by membership fees and donations. Your membership enhances VBFs collective voice for advocacy, education, and bicycling safety throughout Virginia. Whether you join or make a one time donation, your contribution will ensure that our work remains strong throughout Virginia.

Please note: As an alternative to payment via credit card, dues and donations may be paid via personal check mailed to Virginia Bicycling Federation, PO Box 7282, Richmond, VA 23221. Please include a note on your check with your email address and membership type (if any), stating whether it’s a dues payment or a special donation.

Collaboration is Key

The Virginia Bicycling Federation is truly an alliance of individuals, businesses, and partner organizations across the state.  VBF works in collaboration to maximize our efforts to make Virginia one of the most bicycling-friendly states in America.  Most recently, the League of American Bicyclists ranked Virginia as our nation’s 12th most “Bicycle Friendly State” and number two (#2) out of 13 southeastern states.

  • Updates on important legislation and initiatives being championed by VBF
  • Updates on bike advocacy and what other organizations are doing around the state
  • Access to advocacy resources and educational tools
  • News concerning infrastructure projects and progress (improvements to roadways, paths, and trails)
  • News of state and local bicycling programs
