VBF supported the Creation of the Virginia State Trails Advisory Committee

VBF supported passage of trails and greenways Resolutions in Richmond, Ashland, Spotsylvania, New Kent, Charles City, Chesterfield, Hanover, Goochland and Powhatan Counties.
VBF has long participated in the Virginia Committee of the East Coast Greenway Alliance and chaired that committee for several years in the 2010s.
VBF supported the creation and funding of the Virginia Capital Trail. VBF helped launch the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation with a $1,000 founding donation. VBF also championed successful routing of Virginia Capital Trail near I-295.
The former Bay Coast Railroad offers 49.1 miles of a primarily flat and straight right of way and presents an opportunity for a shared use path connecting communities, businesses, and State/Federal parks throughout Northampton and Accomack Counties.
Named for its unique geography along the trail corridor, the Fall Line denotes the area where the Piedmont plateau and Atlantic Coastal Plain meet, resulting in a number of rapids and waterfalls. The Fall Line trail courses through seven localities: Ashland, Hanover, Henrico, Richmond, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, and Petersburg.
